Our campsite is located about 35 km from Sant Feliu de Guixols, a pretty and relaxing seaside resort located in the heart of la Costa Brava near breathtaking natural and wild spaces. It is particularly known for its remarkable bay and its magnificent beaches of fine sand, in particular Sant Pol beach. The clear and clean water of the sea will reveal its diverse aquatic fauna (fish of all kinds and starfish). Sports enthusiasts will also have something to enjoy thanks to the city’s aquatic centres, which offer canoeing, scuba diving and snorkelling activities. If you like the hiking and the spectacular views of natural landscapes, the Camino de Ronda and its rocks await you not far from there to delight your eyes along the magnificent Gulf of Roses: the limestone rocks with their flamboyant colours blend superbly with the azure blue of the sea.
If you come to the region also for culture, rest assured, Sant Feliu de Guíxols has enough to satisfy you since it contains one of the most important religious Benedictine monasteries of the Middle Ages in Catalonia, whose architecture is the result of constructions carried out at different times and various restorations. This monastery also houses the Musée d’histoire de la ville which not only allows you to learn more about the origin of the monastery’s foundation but also to deepen your knowledge on various and varied themes, such as cork making or the evolution of medicine, from traditional knowledge to current research. If you like art galleries, do not hesitate to visit the “Carmen Thyssen Space” which only offers temporary exhibitions featuring works by various and varied artists, including Gauguin, Delvaux or Vasarely depending on the season. If you are in the region in summer, also visit the Porta Ferrada festival, the oldest of all festivals in Catalonia, which promotes an infinite number of artistic disciplines!
