The Archaeological Museum Masia de Can Saragossa

Lloret de Mar is home to three Iberian-era sites: Montbarbat, Puig de Castellet, and Turo Rodo. These sites reflect the ancient history of the region.

The unearthed items, pottery, ceramics, and tools, are displayed at Masia de Can Saragossa. This medieval building, perched on a hill and surrounded by gardens, was built in 1317 by the Saragossa family. Over the centuries, it has evolved while retaining its original charm, becoming a place filled with family histories.

Since 1984, the city council of Lloret de Mar has owned it and converted it into a museum.

This Lloret de Mar museum highlights archaeological findings from local Iberian colonies. It also features a collection of works by Joan Llaverias, an artist renowned for his landscapes. During your visit, take time to appreciate the mosaics, traditional shutters, and the remarkable facade of this historic farm.

Av. Vila de Tossa, s/n, 17310 Lloret de Mar - Museum open from November to March, Monday to Sunday, from 10am to 1pm and from 4pm to 6pm. Hours change slightly from April to October. Entrance fee is 3 euros for adults, reduced rate at 1.50 euros.

The Maritime Museum Museo del Mar

Located on the promenade, facing the sea, the maritime museum of Lloret de Mar recounts the historical connection of the city with the sea.

As you walk through the different rooms, you will discover notable aspects of local history, such as the construction of boats directly on the beach and maritime expeditions for trading goods like tobacco, coffee, and cotton with America. On the ground floor, original elements from the 19th century, including ceilings, walls, furniture, and floors, have been carefully preserved.

This Lloret de Mar museum is located in the house known as Can Garriga. Enric Garriga, who had made his fortune in America, built this house in 1887 for his family after returning to Spain. It remained in the family until 1981, when it was acquired by the municipality and transformed into the Museo del Mar, becoming a key site for understanding the region's maritime history.

Passeig de Camprodon i Arrieta, 2, 17310 Lloret de Mar - Museum open Monday to Sunday, from 9am to 1:30pm and from 4pm to 6pm. Entrance fee is 4.10 euros for adults, reduced rate at 2 euros.

The Can Font Museum

Can Font, also called Cal Conde or Can Piuet, is a historic building constructed in 1877 in the Catalan modernist style.

This emblematic building was erected by the master builder Fèlix Torras i Mataró at the request of Nicolau Font i Maig, a resident of Lloret de Mar. It reflects the prosperity of local families who made their fortune in America, often referred to as the "Indianos."

Since its creation, the house has changed owners several times before being acquired by the Lloret de Mar city council in 1981 and transformed into a museum.

The Can Font museum showcases remarkable architectural and decorative elements, frescoes, and plaster ornaments that adorn the walls and ceilings. Ceramic mosaics, wrought iron railings, woodwork, and stained glass illustrate the refinement of the era.

This Lloret de Mar museum offers an immersion into the 19th century, revealing the lifestyle of the local elite upon their return from America.

Carrer de Sant Carles, 16, 17310 Lloret de Mar - Museum open Monday to Sunday, from 10am to 1pm and from 4pm to 6pm. Entrance fee is 5 euros for adults, reduced rate at 2.50 euros.
