CAMPING CALA LLEVADÓ RECEIVES THE SILVER RECOGNITION OF EMAS
THE CAMPSITE CONSOLIDATES ITS ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AFTER 13 YEARS OF CONTINUOUS EMAS REGISTRATION
Barcelona, May 19, 2015. Camping Cala Llevadó in Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava, received on Tuesday, May 19 at the Hotel Alimara in Barcelona, the Silver Recognition for more than 10 years of Continuous EMAS Registration, working for the environmental issues and challenges in the business since 2001.
The event counted on the presence of a hundred Catalan companies from different economic sectors, which where recognized by their environmental work in three categories: Gold for companies with more than 15 years with the EMAS registration; Silver for more than 10 years; and Bronze for more than 5 years. The event was attended by the Directorate-General for Environmental Quality of the Ministry of Territory and Sustainability of the Government of Catalonia, Ms. Assumpta Farran; and by the Responsible of Ecoinnovation and Circular Economy at the European Commission, Mr. Hugo Schally. The Director of Camping Cala Llevadó, Mr. Pere Aromir made a review of the history of the company in environmental matter and underlined the high cost of time and money that the management of this issues demands to be to the height in sustainability and to be constant. Nevertheless, Aromir underlined as well the importance and necessity of still keep investing on it. Both authorities and companies, who presented their projects as examples of sustainability, stressed the importance in the society and the impact in the economy of the constancy of investing and the effort of all stakeholders concerning environment and sustainability from and within the companies.
After receiving the recognition last year by the Government of Catalonia to carry more than 10 years with the certificate DGQA (Distinctive of Environmental Quality Guarantee in its abbreviations in Catalan), this new recognition at a European level means for Camping Cala Llevadó a seal of environmental quality assurance that goes beyond helping to maintain the commitment to respect and care for the environment and policies for the management of construction, waste, and energy consumption, among other measures. Indeed ECO philosophy is based on involving all stakeholders, including clients, who do actively participate in environmental activities, especially in campsites; a sector yet to be discovered and professionally and socially valued in our country.
A FIRM COMMITMENT WITH GLAMPING: Camping Cala Llevadó innovates again opening this year two bungalows made of 100% natural wood and insulated with local pressed wool of sheeps from Girona to get a proper sound and temperature insulation, as well as the best comfort with a minimalist and modern style. These bungalows are called Sea Cabins · Glamping Sheeps and their style is Glamping and type is Bungy. It has been created for romantic couples, strategically located beneath pine and cork trees, very close to the sea.
INNOVATION AWARD 2014: Camping Cala Llevadó receives this year the Innovation Award 2014 by the prestigious British camping guide Alan Rogers, mainly because of the project Cadiretes ECO Bungalow Park, by dosarquitectes. It is a recognition to the trajectory of the company in favor of a new concept and unique quality and environmentally friendly accommodations.
